Identification

Updating a McStas 2.3 installation

On a Debian/Ubuntu/Mint/... Linux with the mccode.org repo enabled, you should receive the update automatically. Otherwise the command sudo apt-get install --reinstall mcstas-comps-2.3 may help.

On a RedHat/CentOS/Scientific/... Linux with the mccode.org repo enabled, you should receive the update automatically. Otherwisethe command sudo yum reinstall mcstas-comps-2.3 may help.

On a Mac OS X 10.9-10.11 where you previously installed the McStas 2.3 metapackage, please download and install an updated mcstas-comps-2.3 from http://downloads.mcstas.org/mcstas-2.3/mac/updates/.

On a Windows PC where you previously installed the McStas 2.3 metapackage, please download and install an updated mcstas-comps-2.3 from http://downloads.mcstas.org/mcstas-2.3/windows/updates/.>

Updating a McStas 2.x or 1.12c installation

Irrespective of operating system, please download the relevant update archive from the McStas 2.3 updates folder. It contains two folders with a set of files for 2.x or 1.12c versions of McStas: 
  Brilliance_monitor.comp
  ESS_butterfly-geometry.c
  ESS_butterfly-lib.c
  ESS_butterfly-lib.h
  ESS_butterfly.comp
  ESS_butterfly_test.instr
Either put all of the files in your McStas working folder or copy the comp file to your MCSTAS/sources folder, the instr file to your MCSTAS/examples folder and the remaining c and h files to your MCSTAS/share folder.
